MaritimMatch connects seafarers, shipping companies, staffing agencies, course providers and maritime service businesses. Here are answers to the questions people ask most.
Is MaritimMatch a staffing agency?
No. MaritimMatch is not a staffing agency and does not place people in jobs itself. We are a platform that makes you, as a seafarer, visible to approved shipping companies and staffing agencies.
What do seafarers get out of signing up?
You gather your certificates in one place, show when you are available, and become visible to approved shipping companies and staffing agencies looking for people. You decide what you add.
Who can find and contact seafarers?
Only shipping companies and staffing agencies that we have approved and that have active access. Ordinary visitors and course providers cannot search for seafarers.
Who can see profile details and certificates?
Approved shipping companies and staffing agencies with access can see your profile and that you hold your certificates, including details such as issuer and dates. The document file you upload stays private and is not shown to them. MaritimMatch can see the details for support and moderation.
Are personal details sold to course providers or others?
No. Your personal details are never sold to course providers or anyone else.
Can course providers send random course offers?
No. Course providers cannot send random offers to all seafarers. A course provider can only contact you after you have shown interest in their course.
Does it cost anything for seafarers?
Signing up is free for seafarers – you can build your profile, upload your CV and certificates, be visible and searchable to approved employers, and browse and apply for vacancies. MaritimMatch Plus is optional and adds personal productivity tools.
Does MaritimMatch guarantee that you will get a job?
No. We make you visible to employers, but we cannot guarantee a job.
How can MaritimMatch help if you want a different kind of maritime job?
You can showcase the breadth of your experience and certificates and make yourself available for different kinds of maritime work. That way more approved shipping companies and staffing agencies can see that you are relevant.
How do you install MaritimMatch on your phone?
MaritimMatch installs directly from your browser. Android: Open app.maritimmatch.no in Chrome → tap the menu ⋮ → choose “Install app” or “Add to Home screen”. iPhone: Open app.maritimmatch.no in Safari → tap Share → choose “Add to Home Screen”.. MaritimMatch is not yet available in the App Store or Google Play. If installation does not work, you can still use MaritimMatch directly in your browser.

Who owns and controls my details?
You stay in control of your details. You can update your profile, change your details and delete your account. MaritimMatch uses your details to provide and administer the service, as explained in the privacy policy.
